The Volna Hotel is well situated not far from the international airport on one the main city highways leading to the historical center. The construction of The Volna Hotel is a joint project of the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) and Autocentar-Merkur Company, Zagreb, Croatia.
It is a remarkable fact that an old hotel building was constructed in 1936 under the project of V.A. Orelsky, an architect of Nizhny Novgorod. It is a historical monument of the epoch of constructivism in the thirties of the twentieth century. Having preserved its historical image after the total reconstruction the Hotel again opened its doors hospitably to guests on August 30, 1996.
